The Power of Hope

BIG hope is a large-scale public art installation by Chicago artist Matthew Hoffman, created in honor of the 1 in 8 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Both a symbol and a call to action, the sculpture reflects what is possible when bold ideas and collaboration come together. Because progress begins where hope takes shape.

Where Hope Becomes Action

BIG hope stands for more than awareness. It represents investment in the earliest and most critical stages of breast cancer research, fueling investigator-driven discovery, advancing collaboration, and expanding equitable access to inclusive clinical trials and patient support.

Hope at the Forefront

Now residing at UChicago Medicine’s Center for Cancer Care and Discovery, BIG hope reflects a shared commitment to bold research and equitable access to care. Through sustained investment in early-stage research, investigator support, and collaborative clinical trials through the Chicago Breast Cancer Research Consortium, Lynn Sage and UChicago Medicine are working side by side to accelerate progress against breast cancer.

Sponsorship Levels

Sponsoring a slat on BIG hope is a meaningful way to honor a loved one, recognize an organization, or demonstrate your commitment to advancing breast cancer research. Each contribution directly supports Lynn Sage’s mission to eradicate breast cancer by funding innovative research and early-career investigators.

Your support helps bring hope to the forefront and move breast cancer research forward.
