Ways to Make an Impact

Support Creativity & Innovation Locally

The Lynn Sage Foundation has a generous and diverse base of supporters, none more so than Chicago’s restaurant community.  For the past twelve years, over 200 restaurants have supported innovative breast cancer research each October through In Good Taste.  Their incredible effort has raised almost $1 million for early career scientists studying the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

One Off Hospitality began supporting The Lynn Sage Foundation in 2011 through The Publican.  It was a natural partnership, rooted in innovation and a dedication to Chicago.  One Off has led the dining progression throughout Chicago’s most beloved neighborhoods, while garnering an impressive portfolio of prestigious industry accolades for everything from fine dining to fast casual, and interior design to inventive beverage programs.  Partners, Eduard Seitan, Donnie Madia, Paul Kahan, and Terry Alexander (pictured above courtesy of Wes Taylor) wanted their creative efforts to support local causes similarly driven by innovation.

One Off’s support for breast cancer research, which began at The Publican (open for dine-in) has expanded each year.  Partners now also include; Avec (open for dine-in), Big Star Wrigleyville (open for dine-in), Big Star Wicker Park (available to-go), Dove’s Luncheonette (patio open and to-go), Publican Quality Meats (patio open and to-go), The Violet Hour (batched cocktail kits available to go).  Each dining concept has made meaningful contributions to improve outcomes for all those diagnosed with breast cancer.

Furthering their ethos of creativity and hospitality, One Off recently launched the quintessential Big Star Margarita in a canned format.  Just in time for your social distanced barbecue, this novel prepackaged drink can be found at Foxtrot Markets, Binny’s and select Whole Foods throughout Chicago.  Generous even in challenging times, One Off continues to support causes important to the Chicago community.  A portion of proceeds from each 4-pack benefit, Support Staff, a Chicago nonprofit focused on mental health support for hospitality professionals during the COVID-19 health pandemic.

As we all navigate this difficult year, please continue to patronize the local establishments that make Chicago fabulous.  Thank you for supporting our partners!
